ALL ABOUT WEDDINGS

I’ve got you.

A wedding is a big deal. A HUGE deal. And choosing a photographer who speaks your language and understands what you like (and, more importantly, what you hate) is super crucial. For instance, you will never catch me taking photos of the table place settings when an impromptu limbo contest is taking place on the dancefloor. I’ve got my priorities straight.

I am all about the day and the people (not that I don’t love a nice table setting).

What am I like?

Oooh good question.

Bubbly, arty and interested in you and your big day. My work kind of reflects what the inside of my head looks like: rainbow-bright colours, fireworks going off, wedding guests bouncing around to 80s funk, and at least three people laughing and/or crying.

For your peace of mind (and mine)
I DO SOLEMNLY VOW NEVER TO…

N

01.

Say: “Okay, now let’s have some FUN ones…”

N

02.

Suggest the groomsmen hold up the bride in that weird catch-of-the-day pose (put the woman down, she is not a mackerel).

N

03.

Try to herd the guests into a massive heart shape for an aerial shot while I stagger onto a ladder and try not to break my neck for what will be your least favourite photo (fact: at least 30% of the guests will have their eyes closed)

N

04.

Take two hundred pictures of your shoes. Your shoes are great, but come on. They’re shoes.

N

05.

Take you away from the party (and canapés) and force you to pose.

"

Why do I do it?

I care about your wedding, I care about doing a brilliant job, and I care about you. That’s it.

You’ve placed a great big chunk of trust in me when asking me to shoot your day, and I am going to make damn sure that the resulting album makes you do cartwheels of joy.

I’m not your typical wedding photographer. I don’t worry about much, and I am always smiling. I don’t believe in perfection, only good times. And I love people. The glorious, witty, gorgeous humanness of people…I can’t get enough of it. I will bob about your wedding, keeping my eyes peeled for beautiful pockets of realness. Those twinkly moments that would otherwise disappear into the ether, the ones that make you go: “Oh, THAT’S why we hired Jordanna.”

Or, y’know, words to that effect.

My approach to your day

Getting Ready

If having some photos of getting ready is important to you then I advise I start with you roughly 2 hours before the ceremony. I can only be in one place at a time though so if you both want your pre ceremony excitement photographed then we can easily arrange a second shooter.

I will work discreetly during this part of the day to capture that rollercoaster of excitement and nerves. All you need to do is relax and enjoy yourself.

The Ceremony

Time for the headline event! I promise you this part of the day will pass by in a flash. If you are feeling nervous about all eyes on you remember that you are surrounded by your nearest and dearest – my advice just take a deep breath and enjoy it. It is a really special thing having all your loved ones together in one room for you two.

Again, my coverage is strictly documentary in style. I’ll be there capturing all those big moments and all those little glances between yourselves that’ll make you laugh and cry once you look through your album.

Just Married

You’re married! This is such a special and busy part of the day for both you and me. We’ll get the masses of confetti thrown, you’ll have lots of hugs and perhaps a few drinks.

I always advise we do your family group shots during the cocktail hour; I’ll whisk you off for a short period of time to get some portraits of just the two of you too before continuing with my signature candid photography of you and your guests having a great time.

Party Time

The meal and speeches are done – time to hit the dance floor! This is a fab opportunity to get some really characterful photos of you and your guests having the time of your lives.

I won’t be asking to you to pose for me but I will be getting down on the dance floor with you in order to get the best authentic shots that I am sure will make you snort with laughter.

RAVE REVIEWS FROM AWESOME COUPLES

Aww you guys.

It’s always really heart-warming to receive feedback from my couples once their wedding day has been and gone and they have received their gallery.

Some of my couples have taken it upon themselves to say lovely things about me. I’ve shamelessly included them below. They make me happy. (There are tonnes more on Google too if you just can’t get enough of reading about what a damn fine photographer I am.)

We absolutely love the collection of images Jordanna pulled together for us not only that we loved working with her. We had a gut feeling she was the right photographer for us and we feel so happy to have found you. Jordanna made us feel so comfortable and expertly captured all those little moments and quirks that we didn’t even realise were going on. Our photos are packed full of colour, joy and emotion and can we just do it all again?! x

TRISH & GAUTAM

It was so lovely working with Jordanna, she made it so easy and relaxed and FUN! We booked her because her photos had so much life to them and she’s great with colour (very important!) We didn’t want formal pictures so even our group shots look relaxed and natural. She captured A LOT of laughter and managed to blend in with our guests beautifully. So many people commented on how easy going she was and how much they adore our photos! x

PETE & PHIL

{

Thank you so much! You have done an amazing job capturing our wedding day. Going through all the images makes us both want to re-live the whole day. What we love about the photos is all of the smiles that you both captured – they really reflect the good times had by all! We love the way you captured the colourful uniqueness of Paradise and our guests. The combination has made a vibrant and beautiful record of our wedding day. Perfect! x

MEL & EUAN

{

We have just been giggling hysterically over your wonderful photos – you absolutely captured every single guest with such wit and humour and sensitivity. We don’t know how you do it! We really appreciated how discreet you were and thank you for dealing with a bride that didn’t want to pose or be told what to do haha! Couldn’t be more chuffed so thank you again, you’ve given us some lifelong memories. x

BEX & DAN

{

We absolutely love Jordanna. We obviously loved her colourful, playful, fly-on-the-wall style – hence why we got in touch with her in the first place – but as a person too she’s lovely, warm, positive and super calm/easy-going. Her style is to not be in your face the whole time  we barely even knew she was there, and yet she took some absolutely beautiful shots. Her energy and personality suited the day down to a tee, and we couldn’t have asked for more from her. x

Jordanna’s talents are one in a million. Not only is her work bright fun and full of joy she is one lovely lady too! Everything felt so relaxed on our wedding day, we never felt forced to pose, she just knows how to capture your special moments naturally. She caught many an eccentric character/moment on camera and I always get the buzz of our big day back when looking through Jordanna’s fabulous photos. Thank you so so much. You’re simply the best!

GOT SOME

Questions?

Ask me anything, I’m always up for a chat!

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

Characterful documentary photography that is unobtrusive, energetic, often humorous and cheese free. I promise to never ask you to do anything weird! Your images will be a true reflection of the awesome day you have planned.

If you’d like to have a deeper dive on my style then check this BLOG out.

HOW DO WE GET PHOTOS WE ARE GOING TO LOVE? (We are worried about being AWKWARD!)

It really is very simple, crack on and have the best day ever and trust me to capture all those moments – big and small – that make your day uniquely yours!  Also I’ll tell you a secret – you don’t have to pose at all – just enjoy yourselves and I’ll do the rest!

If it makes you feel better, I would say 95% of my couples tell me are worried about feeling awkward. I wrote this POST to help put your nerves at ease.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?

I offer various packages starting from £2600. Extra hours can be added to create a unique level of coverage to suit your day. There are no hidden nasties with me! I am very flexible if you want to add more hours even if on the day of the wedding itself. Drop me a line and I’ll whizz my pricing brochure straight over to you.

CAN WE DECIDE LATER IF WE WANT AN ALBUM?

Sure thing. It isn’t a problem at all. Whenever you are ready. I love making albums for my couples and I think everyone should have one (although I will never give you the hard sell!)

You can read more about my albums HERE.

WILL YOU VISIT OUR VENUE BEFORE OUR WEDDING DAY?

Due to the way I shoot – this isn’t important to me. I always arrive early to have a good look around before I start shooting with you anyway.

DO I DO GROUP SHOTS?

Yes, but there’s a “but”. Of course, I’ll shoot whatever you want me too, but I recommend keeping them brief and relaxed. I advise eight different groups, tops. You don’t want to miss your wedding!

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE WEDDING DAY?

I go home and start editing! I’ll aim to send you a preview of your photos within 1 week for you to share as you wish. You’ll then be able to view and download all your High Res images within 4-6 weeks of the wedding through a private online gallery which friends and family can access too.

CAN YOU PENCIL US IN?

Sorry I can’t. Your date is secured once you have signed a contract with me and you’ve paid the deposit.

WHAT AREAS OF THE COUNTRY DO YOU COVER?

All of it! I have a car and a passport so the world’s my oyster. Happy to chat details with you.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yep, I have public liabilty & professional indemnity insurance. For the (surprisingly) little it costs I’d always recommend you look into getting your own wedding insurance too.

DO WE NEED TO FEED YOU?

Yes please, if that’s ok. It’s a really long day and I would hate to miss something because I’ve popped out for food. I don’t need anything flashy whatever is easiest for your caterers is fine by me. PS If you can’t just let me know and I’ll bring a packed lunch.

WHEN DO WE PAY YOU OUR FINAL BALANCE?

Ideally on the 1st of the month prior to your wedding month into my online business account. This helps me be organised and gives me a pay day.

CAN WE SEE A FULL GALLERY OF IMAGES?

Sure you can! Take a look through this slideshow of Emma & Pete’s real wedding now. CLICK HERE

Or if you would rather some more bite-sized snippets of my work then head over to my BLOG now.

ANYTHING ELSE WE NEED TO KNOW?

Well, whilst you are here I am handy with a buttonhole; always carry immodium, tit tape and paracetamol; love kids; drive a fuel efficient car; (apparently) happy to kneel in goose poo to get the shot; very willing to talk absolute rubbish to keep you calm pre ceremony; am always smiling and never stressed. Oh and if you wanted to ask (some do!) I am currently a Sony shooter and you can read more about that HERE.

LET’S DO THIS

I’m really looking forward to meeting you.

If you are ready to fill in the form opposite then let’s chat and get to know one another. I’d really like that.

Don’t worry there will be no hard sales chat – nothing fills me with dread more(!) – my main goal is just to work out if I’m the right photographer for you both.

I will usually reply within 24hours so if you haven’t received a reply in that time then please check your pesky spam folder!
