"We absolutely bloody love them! We can’t stop smiling, they are just perfect and everything we wanted!!!! I even had a few tears. Thank you so so soooo much! We are so chuffed with them! We can’t stop looking at them! Thank you also for being so great on the day! You were brilliant."

Mega fun Hope Mill Theatre Wedding in industrial, Manchester

Hope Mill Theatre Wedding // Well the first wedding blogged of 2020 happens to be Mel & Nick’s fabulous Hope Mill Theatre Wedding that I have been meaning to blog for an age!

I remember distinctly when Mel’s enquiry to shoot their Hope Mill Theatre Wedding landed, I was so excited. I really do love an industrial setting for a wedding and Hope Mill delivers and then some. Mel’s email also struck a chord with me because she had requested, I quote, “No pictures of just stuff, we want them to all include the people we are inviting.” Don’t get me wrong I always do include the details that make up your day and I can get as excited about flowers as any flower loving person can but it was refreshing to hear they were planning a day around having an ace time with the people that they loved rather than stressing about ‘the stuff.’

And what a bunch of people they invited! So many characters!

The Wedding Day

All day was full of laughter and singing – from bridal prep with pink gin in hand to the dancefloor. From the coach trip to the brilliant best man speeches that had the Hope Mill Theatre Wedding party roaring with laughter. A bit of audience participation always goes down a treat if the booze has been flowing, I find.

Talking of booze, I remember fondly their portraits on the wedding day – Nick was like a new man! I had met the couple for an engagement shoot pre wedding and Nick had found it really awkward. I told him he wouldn’t feel like that on the day itself and how right was I?! The absolute skin full of alcohol may have helped though. Well done Nick you win for my most memorable drunk groom ever! 😀

Mel however had managed to enjoy herself without getting quite so inebriated and looked absolutely knock out in her super simple, Sportsmax-esque dress.

The whole wedding party were an absolute hoot. I hope you can tell through these photos how much I enjoyed shooting the day too.

Here’s a selection of images from the day and also a link to their wedding film put together by one of the video guys I recommend you speak to – if having video is important to you…
