The Star London Wedding Photos
If Lou and Josh’s wedding day was a cartoon it’d be something bursting with character and colour…I dunno, like Ren and Stimpy. Something crackers. You’ve probably guessed that these two were a lot of fun and they are very much my sort of people – laid back, warm and funny.
After getting married at Islington Town Hall all the guests boarded the party bus to The Star in Tufnell Park. Another fine London pub venue that I’d totally recommend – fab food, friendly staff, some windows(!) to let it some lovely light. WIndows aren’t to be sniffed at when you are a photographer folks!
Oh and worth mentioning…Lou didn’t stop dancing (or chewing gum. Alex Ferguson has nothing on Lou! I bet he didn’t chew gum through is ceremony! But we won’t linger here). The happiness in the room was infectious and my face was aching by the end of the day.
Anyway, if you haven’t noticed already I am TRYING my best to blog more this year…so I am not gonna whittle on…I’d let Lou do that 🙂 Instead, I will just leave you to a selection of my fave pics.
Lou and Josh are yet another couple that I am going to publicly announce my love for – but I am sure these two will remain my pals. Wishing you a lifetime of laughter and fuzzy love.
“We decided to work with Jordanna as she was recommended by a good friend. She was (and is) just amazing. A bloody good laugh, up for experimenting. She’s just great. Literally everyone loved her!”
Lou’s words of wedded wisdom…
Where it all began… We met at work – we both work for Sony Music – and kept it secret from the gossip mongers for 18 months! Secret squirrel! We got engaged in Copenhagen just shy of the 18 months and got married 11 months later. We’re organised!
Finding the venue… I’m a Londoner born and bred and we both agreed we wanted a good old knees up in a pub near home so settled on The Star in Tufnell Park and Islington Town Hall – perfect!
Our style… I chose my short fifties dress – from Rock the Frock Bridal – because I can never sit still and wanted something I could move about and dance in. My Vivienne Westwood shoes were a steal on ebay and lovely and bright – the theme for the wedding being COLOUR! Josh wanted a heavy tweed suit (for the winter!) and paired it off with a lovely yellow tie – again, colour!
The florist… We chose a lovely florist who does a lot of work for some very high profile clients at our place of work! We got all our flowers free as my friend won a voucher at our office Christmas party. She got what we wanted straight away and put together the most gorgeous colourful flowers. Result!
The ceremony… Our ceremony was just a massive laugh! It started with a nervous Josh waiting for a late me (I needed a wee and the two people in the loo before me wouldn’t let me push in the queue!), me arriving a few minutes late and entering to Bjork’s ‘It’s oh so quiet’ – then pretty much skipping down the aisle with my matron of honour (best girl-friend) and dishonour (best boy-friend), my 9 year old niece and my dad. We then laughed lots, joked lots and everyone danced out to the Peanuts Linus and Lucy song by the Vince Guaraldi Trio. We both work for a record company so the music was important!
The party… We didn’t plan on having a first dance but were hassled at around 8pm to get up and dance so we chose ‘By My Side’ by the Eurythmics. Apparently we did a good job! We just played music through an iPod for the evening – having all our friends and family in one spot was just amazing and that was enough for us to have the best day ever.
Final tip… Just chill out, don’t panic about anything…it’s just a big party. Just a day. The rest of your life is the bit that really matters!
