West Reservoir Centre Wedding Photos – London Wedding – Victoria & Dan
West Reservoir Centre Wedding Photos for super stylish Vix and Dan
Awesome Wedding Reservoir Centre Wedding and crawl of London
West Reservoir Centre Wedding // Victoria and Dan’s West Reservoir Centre Wedding photos are a treat for your eyes this gloomy weekend. Starting at the super hip Ace Hotel in Shoreditch where Victoria transformed into such a gorgeous but achingly cool bride to good old Islington Town Hall to the lovely, proper London boozer – The Prince – to The West Reservoir Centre which was just fab.
Also just look at them. Don’t they look fabulous?! That dress, that suit, that car, those flowers, those shoes, that flower girl 🙂
All I will say is that Victoria and Dan were an absolute pleasure to get to know; funny; warm and so kind hearted. Lots of love for you guys!
“Jordanna, you were the first thing we booked (after the reception venue!). Photography is very important to me – I love looking at and taking pictures and, as our longstanding memories from our wedding day, we had to get this right! We both loved your previous work – you capture moments – happy relaxed people looking like themselves – beautiful, colourful photos of people having fun. It’s not an easy feat. And then we met you, and we think you’re ace!”
Victoria & Dan
West Reservoir Centre Wedding as a venue
We had three venues – Islington Town Hall, The Prince Pub for a glass of pub booze then West Reservoir Centre, Stoke Newington. Dan wanted a dry hire venue – somewhere that we could bring in the food, booze and decor ourselves and really make it our own.Plus we also wanted local venues so we could walk past them and say, “We got married there.”
A Charlotte Simpson Couture Gown and Monolo Blahnik shoes for the bride
I wore a Charlotte Simpson couture gown with dark blue velvet Manolo Blahnik shoes. Her designs are simple, classic and beautiful. As soon as I visited the showroom, I knew any thoughts of lace and boho were out the window, I had found my designer. We decided on a slightly raised hemline for the dress to showcase the shoes. So, so pleasing!
Dan wore a bespoke Charlie Allen light grey suit (a fantastic tailor on Upper Street, Islington) which he looked every inch the dapper gentleman in. It’s a beautifully tailored suit for life. He teamed it with dark blue suede Grenson brogues and a navy Alexander McQueen skull-printed tie and matching pocket square.
The floristry was ace
We used two florists – Dansk on Upper Street for the gorgeous jam jars full of meadow flowers on the tables (a recommendations from a friend) and That Flower Shop in Shoreditch for the bouquets, buttonholes and flower crowns. I loved the bouquets on the “That Flower Shop” instagram, they were a perfect mix of pretty but imperfect. I don’t like anything to look too put together!
The Music Filled Ceremony
I asked my dad the day after the wedding what his favourite part of the day was. He said, without a doubt, the ceremony! Islington Town Hall was beautiful and we loved the way the guests are seated around in a circle you rather than behind you, it feels more personal. Both the mums did readings. My mum read her so well and her voice cracked with emotion as she begun which immediately set me off. We had no idea how emotional the whole thing would be. It was such a special moment! We also had old family friend Peter ( a professional trumpet player) play me down the aisle to The Trumpet Tune before joining a a few of our friends in a musical rendition of The Beatles’ “All you need is Love” on the trumpet and guitar with our friend, Nathan singing. It was just lovely!
The Party
We danced to “I’ve got my Mind Set on You” by George Harrison – a live rendition by our band, The Jukebox 45s. Our moves were completely terrible but we were clearly having the time of our lives swinging each other around the dance floor!
Wedded Wisdom
Don’t stress the small stuff. You will inevitably find yourself in a blazing row 5 days before the wedding about the £70 he just spent on a dish rack which is the ugliest monstrosity you’ve ever seen and at £70, REALLY???!! It’s because weddings are stressful, no matter how you spin them. It’s a big old party with a lot of people and family politics and a hell of a lot of money and that inevitably means pressure. Just enjoy it. On the day, whatever happens, it will be wonderful – you will be in a room full of the people you love AND you got to choose the food and music . What could be better?!
